Positive Thoughts

Earlier this week, Rea was admitted to the hospital for some health issues. Nanny has been calling us to give us updates of her progress. Last night she called to give us the latest update. This morning, as we were driving to Connor's daycare, I told him we talked to Nanny on the phone last night.
Connor: Why?
Mommy: She called to talk to us about Rea. Do you remember Rea?
Connor: Yeah. And I gave Butch an ow-ee.
Mommy: No you didn't. He was just teasing you. [pause] Rea is in the hospital, Connor.
Connor: Why?
Mommy: She's really sick. We need to send her lots of love.
Connor: [thoughtful silence] Today I think she will get better.
