The Big Top

Every kid needs to go to the circus at least once in their lifetime. Connor had his chance this weekend. Dada was out of town for Andy and Debi's wedding, so it was just Connor and I at home. Aunt Tin called us up and asked if we wanted to go to the circus with her and some friends. Why not? It was just a small one that came to our neighborhood, but anything bigger may have overwhelmed him. He was pretty fascinated by all the different acts, but was more impressed with the acts that involved animals. Towards the end of the show, it became apparent that it was well past his bedtime. He had a case of the orneries. He didn't want to sit, didn't want a drink, didn't want anything to eat, . . . you get the picture. He perked up a bit when we walked out from under the big top. We found a blow-up zebra for him to take home about the same time a deluge of rain began to fall. With Connor in one arm and the zebra in the other, we made a mad dash for the car with Connor laughing the whole way. Once in the car, he made a point of noticing Mommy's "crazy hair."
