Mother's Day #3

When asked what I wanted to do for Mother's Day this year, my response was just to spend some time with my boys. To my surprise, my boys got me a gift - a beautiful white gold mother/child pendant with Connor's birthstone. Very sweet and unexpected. Since Nanny was still in town, we made some plans unbeknownst to her. What we told her is that we were going to brunch and then to a park. We piled in the car and headed downtown for brunch at The Cheesecake Factory. I'm sure she was wondering why we had to go to the one clear downtown when there's one close to home. We had a short wait, during which time Connor perused all the delectable delights available. We had a nice, leisurely meal. When we were done, we headed back to the car. Nanny started climbing back in, but Dada told her the park was within walking distance. She quickly figured out which park we were referring to . . . Coor's Field. We had to stop at the car to get the cooler I had thrown in without her knowing. So sneaky! We had a good time at the game. It was another gorgeous day and perfect weather for a game. Connor kept us pretty busy during the game, making treks up and down the stairs for various reasons. At one point, he discovered a play area they have for kids just like him that were also tired of sitting. He made his way up the climbing wall and down the slide at least a dozen times before being torn away to return to our seats. We left the game a bit early (it was getting too painful to see the Rockies losing so bad) and headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's for dinner.
