Welcome Home
The last vacation Daddy and I took together was 4 years ago . . . our honeymoon. We've been due for one for a while. So, we finally got our act together and planned one - a 7 day cruise to the caribbean.
Woohoo! We called in backup (a/k/a Nanny) to take care of Connor and left on our long awaited trip on April 22nd. Cruising the caribbean and stopping at four ports - Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Belize, and Costa Maya - was fabulous.
Every day I wrote a postcard to Connor, even if we couldn't mail it (funny thing, no mail service out in the middle of the ocean). He should get at least one from each port we visited (hopefully - it may take a few weeks though). They'll be going in his scrapbook, so years down the line when he's old enough to wonder why we abandoned him for a week, we'll at least have proof that we did, in fact, miss him and thought of him every day we were gone. Nanny sure had her
hands full. While we were gone, not only did Connor realize he didn't have to hang on to something in order to walk, he learned how to run. We got to see his new trick firsthand when we walked through the door when we returned on the 30th. It was quite the surprise for us. It was also reassuring to see that he was excited to see us again. As much fun as we had, it was good to come home.
