Mother's Day #2
What a perfect day. And what a difference a year makes. Connor was only 5 weeks old last year on Mother's Day. This year, he's almost 14 months and getting into SO much trouble. After surprising me with a bouquet of tulips (my favorite!) and some cards, Connor and Daddy took me out for brunch. Apparently the majority of the city's population had the same idea. By the time we finished eating and made it home, it was time for Connor's nap. While napping, Daddy and I were able to finish up some chores we've been putting off. Whew . . . finally! Three hours later, when Connor woke up, we decided to treat ourselves to the beautiful weather outside and went for a stroll. Connor is always in the mood for a ride in his stroller. We stopped by the town center park and set Connor free to roam. And away he went! He was going in every direction he could, there was so much to explore. Connor's great love as of late is balls. Small, big, he doesn't care. As long as it bounces, he wants it. Daddy had brought a ball along for the walk, so he and Connor started playing with it. Before long, Daddy started chasing Connor, causing squeals of delight from Connor. Before long, dark clouds began rolling in and the wind picked up a bit of chill. So what did we do? We headed over to Dairy Queen for a treat before heading home. The temptation of a Butterfinger Blizzard far outweighed the risk of being caught in a rainstorm. We made it home without drop of rain, and in just in time for Connor's afternoon nap. The day was topped off with some great Pei Wei food and a bad movie (Aeon Flux - weird movie). All in all, Mother's Day #2 was a hit.
