Baby Steps

There's no question about it. Connor is growing up. As each day passes, it seems he accomplishes a new feat. He'll soon be graduating from Babyland and will be moving into the world of Toddlerville. He's been standing and "cruising" for quite some time now. In an effort to get him to walk a bit more freely, Daddy and I bought Connor a walker. It has a few extra bells and whistles on it which Connor enjoys playing with almost more than walking with it. He loves to open and close the hood, pulling out the different shapes inside - usually to stick in his mouth. He manages to get his hand stuck in the hole for the blue circle almost daily. He also loves honking the horn and pushing the "radio" button. At first, he did well with it as long as there was nothing in his way. But he's learning and is starting to do better with steering to avoid walls, tables, etc. Sometimes he cheats though, and instead of walking with it, he pushes it while on his knees. But he keeps practicing, and is starting to look like a pro.
.
Besides being on the brink of walking solo, he seems to have mastered the stairs. Not to brag like a proud mom or anything, but it didn't take him long at all. He figured out how to climb them on his own. Daddy spent some time with him teaching how to go back down the "right" way. I still get nervous watching him gradually go higher and higher, but he seems to be very cautious and gives his full attention to where he's putting his feet. Whenever he does one of his new tricks, he's very proud for himself and gives himself a round of applause.
